My question is: A woman was in labor for 20 hours trying to deliver vaginally. She eventually delivered via c-section. How is the anesthesia for this coded?

Thanks

If you are coding for the anesthesiologist, then it depends what the anesthesiologist performed. Look at the Anesthesia/ Obstetric codes 01958 - 01969. Perhaps 01967, 01968 would fit the circumstances?

Thanks! It does look like 01967 and 01968 would fit.
